24 March 2026 • news

After two years of work, the Saletta di Diana e Atteone shines again with the original colors of the Renaissance master.

After an intervention lasting over two years, the delicate restoration of the frescoes in the Saletta di Diana e Atteone, masterpiece by Francesco Mazzola known as Parmigianino, has been completed.

The work, carried out by a team of restorers under the supervision of the Superintendency, made it possible to recover chromatic details that had been lost over the centuries. The pictorial cycle, created between 1523 and 1524, represents one of the pinnacles of Italian Mannerism.

The Saletta is once again open to the public with a new lighting system that enhances every detail of the artwork.
